3 Unknown Benefits Of Community Services!

Rabbi Dovid Weinberger
What makes community services different from a regular job is that you do not offer these services for making money. Instead, community services are offered to help others grow, make a better society and develop healthy relationships with your fellow citizens. Community services are beneficial for the volunteer as well as for the person who is being helped. This, consequently, benefits the overall community. There are a number of benefits of these services and they can help you in progressing in your professional and personal lives as well. Following are the few benefits in this regard:

Community benefits:

A positive environment is shaped when people who are in need are helped and taken care of by others. This helps a community develop a healthy relationship with each other. Through community services, people can help others know that they are not alone and that they can depend on them when they need help. To shape a healthy community, all we need is socially responsible people. Depending on others is not a lasting thing and this is the reason why people must be involved in starting their own small scale businesses. No one can survive while depending on others and at any point in life, it becomes important to have a proper approach towards one’s own work.

Professional benefits:

Not many people know that community services also help people find a good job. The employer takes this as a plus point when you tell them that you have been participating in different projects related to community services. Gone are the days when individuals used to have an outstanding methodology towards one single occupation and they felt that promoting and publicizing are not their fields. These days, promotion and advertising have become a basic piece of each business. In a similar manner, religion has transformed and people are now incorporating technology in order to have greater impact on the lives of the people.

Academic benefits:

Through community services, students can score very well. In colleges and schools, students who participate in different community services are given extra points which enhances their overall academic results.

3 Qualities of Every Community Leader

Rabbi David Weinberger
Being a community leader allows you to represent the interests of the community and always prioritizing them above their own interests. As an important part of the society, community leaders are equipped with leadership, problem-solving skills as well as a drive for helping people without any search for reward as payback. The main role of a community leader is to protect the interest of the community when it comes to the development of a society. As a community leader, one has to focus on motivating people for better causes, focus on social justice, acting as a voice of the people and working towards the betterment of society.

Community leaders either work voluntarily or as a part of their charitable nature. Despite these things, there are certain expectations placed on their role as a useful and productive member of society. There are various qualities that a good community leader must possess. These qualities help them to achieve their vision for the betterment of society.

Empathetic nature

Empathy involves understanding the perspective of the people. Every community leader is equipped with this ability to serve people without any sign of reward. Here, it is important to realize that empathetic nature will always play an important role in community service, without which people would never accept him or her as their leader.

Dedication for the cause

When it comes to standing up for a cause that serves people like social injustice, rights of the ignored members of the society, equal opportunities or representation, it is no simple job. A community leader has to be dedicated to following through without only representing the cause but also develop it into a social movement. Dedication to the cause also involves being able to gather people and raise awareness in order to educate people about it.

Excellent Interpersonal skills

As community leaders are dealing directly with people most of the time, it is important that they are equipped with excellent interpersonal skills. Developing communication skills and public speaking is a part of this skill set which every community leader has acquired over time. With honesty and dedication, any skill can be mastered because community leaders realize the importance of the cause they are representing.
